This is a DNS issue... so depending on who your provider is..... would
depend on if they are willing to do this (they may charge you). Say if you
own the domain something.com, then the www.paul portion of it is nothing
more than a DNS host name... just as www. is...... you can point the host
name to any IP destination...... so, www.something.com, could point else
where than www.paul.something.com or even something like ftp.something.com
.....

So call your host, and ask them if they will create a custom host name for
you. There is no domain purchase needed... only charge will be if your host
decides to charge you for a custom host name....
