Subject: Re: FLASH: Aaaggh - Flash 5 programming

Recap: If you're evaluating a new version, then please take advantage of
the 30-day download yourself, see whether it fits your needs, whether it
lets you do new things that you'd like to do.

At each release all the various online communities have their own posting
patterns, and these resources should definitely be used, but please
remember that the posting patterns only _reflect_ background reality...
they can't substitute for your own experience.

(And yes, if someone's goals can be achieved with Flash 4, then I'm very
happy with that... my schtick is to find ways that people can achieve what
they want.)

Scripting tip: Because the new ActionScript is modeled on the ECMAScript
specification (the formalized version of JavaScript), much of your existing
JavaScript experience, habits, and style can be transferred directly. If
you're not yet familiar with scripting in either language, then JavaScript
guides can also help in approaching such a scripting language... you can
ignore the parts about browser differences, but syntax, structure and style
tips can be directly applied.
