Yes, there's a sample in the Flash technotes, searchable with keyword
"Flash 4". It's very similar to what you'll find when you use Flash 4's
"Publish" features.

(Note that that check is only for the navigator.plugins array, however,
which only the Netscape browsers usefully expose. ActiveX Controls can
auto-install, but if you'd prefer to detect then check the VBScript
"CreateObject()" functions in the script samples.)
