The mime type is not essential to view flash content. It will only affect
Netscape vesions 3 or lower, and possibly Linux versions. Moremodern
browsers are considerably less dependant on MIME, as they should be able to
figure out the filetype by the file extension (.swf, in this case). It's
possible to add a TYPE parameter to your flash embedding tags, which will
help older browsers to recognise the swf. format.

They have no excuse. Setting a mime type on a server is trivial. It
shouldn't take more than 5 minutes if they know what they're doing. However,
you get what you pay for.
