>>>having worked with both dw and fp.... there is NO comparison between the
two.

>From what I've read this is true. but after looking at Microsoft's code on
there home page I would wager that they don't use that product to create
their website.

>>>Dreamweaver is a quality package and should be a part of every ones
>>>arsenal. Learn the language, true, but why beat your head against the
wall
>>>filling in the same old stuff day after day?

My argument was only that Dreamweaver works great for low traffic sites
(50,000 hits or less a month I'm sure that there are exceptions to this
rule) for higher traffic sites IMHO writing your own HTML is a must.
Secondly we don't feel like we are beating our heads against the wall. It
seems almost nonsensical to use another program to generate code that you
are unsure of.
When the right person can generate 100% reliable code in less time (yes less
time) if you have experienced differently you have the wrong people writing
your HTML.

>>>We create objects of our own
>>>code and integrate them with fireworks for image opt (we do a lot of
>>>photographers sites) and have cut the prod time in half, no kidding.

On a different note, have you tried Adobe ImageReady for web image
optimization, if you haven't you should try it, I have found that it is a
far superior application to fireworks (IMHO) I am a former Fireworks user
and I have found that ImageReady blows it out of the water in pretty much
all respects... plus it's from adobe and integrates seamlessly into
Photoshop5.5 Just something to try.

my 2 cents, for what it's worth.

Hello Steven,

If there is code you think is confusing, send it to
maito://wish-dreamweaver together with an example of what you would prefer
to see. I am sure the team would appreciate it.
