Hi Bruce,


I don't think you can!  But Flash sucks for making animated gifs anyway.

Here's a neat trick that allows you to create your animated gifs in Flash,

and then use ImageReady's superior gif crunching abilities to exporrt your

animated gif.


Author your animation in Flash.  When I intend to export Flash to

ImageReady, I set my Flash movie to 10 fps (I'll explain why in a minute).

When your Flash movie is all nice and purty the way you like it, export it

as a pict sequence (MAC) or bmp sequence (PC).  Put all these images in

their own folder. This step is important.


Now open ImageReady.  In your File menu you'll see a command to Import -->

Folder as Frames.  Navigate to the folder containing the pict sequence you

just exported from Flash, and presto!  Your Flash movie is now a series of

frames in ImageReady.  Set your ImageReady frame rate to 0.1 delay (that's

why we set our Flash movie to 10 fps--to maintain a 1-to-1 correlation) and

you can set your bg to be transparent, play with different color palettes,

etc.


It's a nifty little production trick that works every time.
