Yes, absolutely worth it. (I know, it's 2 days since your message and
you've probably already got it!) I agree with everything Dorian said,
but I have still been using Flash 4 also for projects which require it
(eg, a projector file that has to fit on a floppy and compiles to 1.5M
with Flash 5 but squeaks in at 1.42M with Flash 4). No problems at all
using them simultaneously either (WinNT machine). Some of the
advantages of F5 are the javascript-like language, being able to view
and print all scripts in the file, replacement of multi-frame loops with
single-frame onClipEvent routines, ability to set and change mc color on
the fly, draggable dockable panels (pallettes), and lots of other good
stuff. Over the weekend, I put together a little paean to Flash 5
(front-end to Flash 5 journal) at http://i-technica.com/flash5 ;-)
Also includes some samples and mini-tutorials if you're interested.
(Flash 5 player required for all).
