Flash deals reasonably well with audio. You need to set the compression type and amount in either the Publish Setting and/or within the individual sound properties within your library. A lot of the higher quality sounds are often streamed, or they are a combination of numerous short sound loops put together in different combinations so that they sound like a 'complete' piece full of different riffs along the same motif, or it can be a combination of both.


There are a couple of half decent tutorials on the Flash 5 CD that cover various aspects of sound. Once you grasp onto it, the possibilities are wild (take it from a 'traditional' - ie. relic - composer and arranger used to writing and recording music from beginning to end: I can just write a simple loop motif and wail over that to come up with a piece in extremely short time and comes in quickly off the web).
