RE: FLASH: basic question

I mean, the MC just won't play. I'm sure it's something I don't understand

about the basics of the tool (or else my setup is flawed) but here's my

test:


1)create new movie

2)Insert> New Symbol> Graphic (called Shape)

2)Insert> New Symbol> Movie Clip (called Test) 

3)build a simple shape tween from frame 1 to frame 10, no script (the anim

runs when i'm looking at Test)

4)go back to Scene 1

4)drag an instance of this movie clip to frame 5, make some empty frames

upto frame 10 

5)play Scene 1 and when the playhead gets to frame 5, it only shows the

first frame of the MC, the whole MC won't play


it will play in the Library and on it's own timeline but not in the scene.

aren't MCs supposed to play when the frame that their instance occupies is

reached? boy am I missing something. hehe. i went to the bookstore and read

3 different books about this topic (2hours) and it seems so straight-forward

so... i must be missing something very basic. any help would be greatly

appreciated!!!

How about placing a call or goto and play statement in your first frame and

make it so that this frame is only hit once.
