Grr.


Back in the old days, all internet addresses existed only as

'dotted quad' numbers of up to 12 digits.  Then someone invented

the domain name system, which translated these huge, difficult-

to-remember numbers into moderately recognisable names, like

(say) www.bango.net instead of 194.216.214.61.


Now these idiots want to invent new, """""easy""""" to remember

numbers to replace the complex naming system, yet curiously

choose a brand new numbering system, involving translating

numeric IP numbers into names into numeric addresses of a 

different kind.  


Possibly one of the stupidest ideas I've *ever* heard.  Which

is saying something, since I've been involved in this

industry since 1988.
