*This is not intended as an 'aren't we brill message'*

To the best of my knowledge, we experienced no problems at all with the Love
virus - and bear in mind that we are hosting around 10% of the worlds
webmail.

Is it just me, or is there a marked increase in tabloid sensationalism
regarding the net of late? (aka 'Web Grinds To A Halt')

I was speaking with someone today who shall remain nameless, about their
concerns for a particular project and how the press could pick it up and run
with it, when it suddenly struck me :-

4 years ago all the press had to say about the net was porn, porn, porn

3 years ago it had moved onto credit card fraud

and then for a few years nothing really adverse that kinda seems to have
coincided with currentbun, ic24 and just about every form of printed media
moving onto the web and looking to generate revenue.

Suddenly News International pulls out of the ISP space and we are back to
"that nasty internet thingy, full of porn, viruses and credit card fraud"

Now maybe I'm being a little cynical........., besides which, I wonder if
these guys are on the payroll of Norton, McAfee, Dr Solomon etc after all,
without them we wouldn't need anti-virus software?
