you could just use www.deja.com (click on the 'search discussions' link)or
www.altavista.com to search the news groups (again select the discussions
radio button under the text input box).

it isn't automated (though you could do this quite easily) need to employ
someone to do the search for you and filter the results...

...or you could pay someone to build a bot using intelligent data mining
techniques for you. We are doing this for a client who is looking for
e-commerce sites that are selling sportings goods on the internet without
their permission. (no not boo)

how ethical is this? - well you are just reading publically posted
information...you are not intercepting private e-mails.
