Don't get me wrong, I seriously hope it isn't.

I just sense an inevitable change that will come with an influx of new
recruits. I am no snob, I just fear losing the level of understanding that
has been achieved - which we have all invested time in getting to - which
means a topic can be introduced and discussed quite productively. With that
fear comes a concern that I will find it harder and harder to justify the
time it takes me to filter through the mails I receive, which may drive me
to unsubscribe.

I don't want this to happen because I enjoy the good and bad of this list a
great deal. The sponsorship is essential of course, and knowing the people
involved, this makes good sense. It is the profile-building that will be
the problem. It's the difference between a village and a town, community
and no community.

I'd like to be wrong.
