I haven't seen a concrete limit myself, although I'd imagine there must be
some limit to the numbering system. You'd usually run into rendering
slowdowns 'way before running out of numbers, though.

The simpler the clips, the less the rendering chores and the more you could
simultaneously use, most usually.
