Subject: FLASH: Detecting internet connection
From: James

I'm thinking of setting up a projector for local use, but maybe grabbing
information from the web (once and a while). Is there an easy way within
flash to detect if the user has an internet connection and if so, proceed
with a function. Right now, if flash cannot find the URL, it pops up the
error window. Somehow I'd like to surpress that error message and just
move on.

Something like trying to call a certain page on the web, and if you receive
confirmation, then proceed, otherwise show a simple "You must be connected
message" (or do nothing) within the movie and proceed as normal. Or, if
there is a built-in function I don't know about --- maybe an "if
netconnection = yes"... :)

I can handle the above scenario within flash, but that popup window still
comes up which gets annoying. Any ideas are appreciated.
