Flash does NOT allow import of MP3 sound. Flash 4 does allow compression
of sound (wav for PC & aiff for Mac) using MP3 compression within the
Flash 4 file.

Yes this can be done in Flash 4, by comparing the amount of downloaded
bytes compared to the elapsed time. This will return the actual
connection speed and not the type of connection.
