Subject: FLASH: Flash 4 plugin detection (for the gazillionth time).

Does anyone know of a method of detecting Flash in IE on a Mac?

I haven't got a Mac for testing but I've been told that the only method
involves client-side scripting, because GetURL (i.e. Macromedia's
'self-detecting' method) does not work with the Mac-IE plug-in.

I am aware of a number of testing methods for the PC, and am happy
with my detection scheme on Windows, but I would like to know if
anyone has a detection scheme that DOES work in the Mac-IE
browser (even if it only works for that browser). I'd prefer a solution
without javascript (or vbscript, etc) as I've already seen some very good
script-based detection.

Also, if GetURL does not work in the Mac-IE browser, I'm assuming
that any Flash content using GetURL will be incompatible with Mac-IE.
If anyone can shed some light on these issues, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!
