i am worried about the people who download the Flash5 beta player
seeing only the "5" and not really caring about the "BETA" ... those
next-best-thing people who need to buy the latest laserdisc player as soon
as it comes out because giant LP-sized frisbees are the wave of the future,
and then get frustrated when Flash stuff doesn't work any more. Who knows?
It may even cause a backlash or, at the very least, beeg problems with
broken players when people neglect to dl a working version.

One of the biggest complaints i've heard about Flash, albeit in the
early days, was that it required a plugin. This whole plugin thing is not
something you wanna mess with when dealing with the general, sometimes
irrational public. It doesn't take 2.3 bazillion people downloading the
thing to note that it was very broken ... a few industry beta testers would
have sufficed.
