This reminds me of a phrase my dad used to tell me, "don't re-invent the
wheel, make it better!". When macromedia started using the "tabbed-floating
palette" I didn't stop buying Adobe products. When LiveMotion starts
including effects that Flash doesn't, I won't stop using Flash. The majority
of serious web designers and developers, who coincidently are about the only
ones who religiously shell out money every time a new version of Adobe or MM
products comes out, use both products because they both have advantages. I
understand why Adobe might be angry. But, if MM doesn't have to spend money
to R&D a new UI then they can R&D other things that move the industry
forward that much faster. And it isn't like Adobe never used any ideas that
Macromedia come up with. Fact is, by moving the industry forward we, the
designers and developers, stand to make more money. Now isn't that the whole
reason MM and Adobe should be putting out products, to make us the CUSTOMERS
more money?
