If your print command is in a button action why not just direct the playhead
to another frame as soon as the print command is executed. This way it
prints the movie clip that is onscreen and then jumps back to a menu or
something else.

preview" whenever the print dialog appears after I issue the

"Get URL ("print:", window="/insInvoice")

command to print the document. I can easily make the invoice instance
appear on the screen at the same time the print dialog comes up and this
gives the user the preview I am shooting for. The problem is that it is
still there after the user presses "ok" or "cancel" within the print dialog.
I know that I could just say, "Click on the invoice to remove it" and put an
invisible button over it, but ideally the previewed document would go away
automatically as soon as the print dialog is clicked.

I don't see any way around this, but have been amazed at the ingenuity of
this group in solving "impossible" problems, so decided to post anyway.
