Chapter 3, page 3:04, after creating a background layer we are instructed:
"With the background element sized and positioned and still selected, create
a new symbol by choosing Insert>New Symbol..."
Did I miss something but I thought to create a symbol out of an existing
object one would use "Convert to symbol" not "New symbol".
If you follow Curtis' instruction you simply end up in symbol edit mode.
Surely this couldn't be a mistake in the book?
He does it again after creating a rectangle for use as a mask: page 3:06
The rectangle is drawn on the stage (not in symbol edit mode) and again we
are instructed to create a symbol out of it by "New symbol".
I'm confused.
