I'm coming to this late, but I have an idea: look up Third Wish Software's
"Magpie Pro" on the web. It's really meant to assist 3D animators with
lip-sync, but it's a stand-alone app that helps you prepare a dope sheet,
something similar to the sheets used by cel animators to plan their scenes.
It will use a library of mouth or face poses [you create these and make
images of them].
Or, for $299 I think, you can get Hash's Animation:Master, an inexpensive &
powerful 3D app which just happens to have the phoneme-recognition feature
you describe. I don't have experience with that feature, but I know that
the Hash app writes its files out in ASCII code, so if you feel like doing
some programming, maybe you can take its phoneme-driven output data and use
it to drive your Flash objects. Doubt it, but I thought I'd mention that
the software has phoneme-recognition, as described below.
