Sorry... although there's documentation about the PSD format, this is
mainly for writing PSDs. They describe how to set parameters for various
"layer effects" (similar to the LiveEffects(tm) introduced in Macromedia
Fireworks 1.0), but they don't describe the way they prefer to render these
effects. That means that other applications can't display such effects as
Photoshop can.

Instead, consider rendering that image down to a single flat plane of
pixels, such as a TIFF format. Many applications can read the various pixel
planes within a PSD too, and if the client's version of Jasc's PaintShop
Pro can handle PSDs with multiple "layers" then just rendering any text and
effects should bring them what they want.
