FLASH: Text Effect help needed... Is this even possible?

Hello all,


    I know this could be considered a "newbie" question, but I have never had 

the need for it before ... so I have never actually done this. But anyway, I 

have several lines of text that I want to apply an effect to. I remember (I 

think) seeing somewhere where there was a way to break apart text, and then 

have each letter of text move into it's own layer on its own... Am I just 

smoking something I shouldn't be? or is this actually possible? Any help on 

this would be greatly appreciated... TIA!
