Subject: FLASH: PNG transparency

Hi all,
I have a question relating to the PNG format of images in Flash.

If I create an animation in 3D studio and export the images of the animation
in to flash as PNG format I have to option of transparency which makes the
images transparent obviously, not just the white areas but all gradients and
clolours etc seem to become like a cellulose effect(not an alpha effect
where things bcome white/lighter as the transparency goes down). However, If
I try to produce and image in Photoshop and export it as PNG the
transpanrency is not so good or easy, I normally can only set the white
areas to transparent or a selective colour and it starts to look like the
traditional alpha effect of lightening the image. My question is how do you
get the effective transparency option you have in max export option to work
in Photoshop so I can import it to flash retaining the overall transparency
effect like acetate?????

any help appreciated

Stuart
