Here is some info I posted to another list the other day:


For learning XML for FLash 5 I strongly recommend "Java and XML" put out by
O'Reilly. In
particular, chapters 1, 2, 4, and 7 are useful when learning XML for use in
Flash. These chapters cover creating valid XML documents, DTD, and parsing.

Most of the code is in Java but since JavaScript's syntax is very close to
Java you will be able to use some of the parsing code within Flash 5 with
few modifications.
