I suspect it's an over-helpful JavaScript detection routine... yup, I went

back to their gateway page and managed to press ESC at the right time to

grab the source before going to that "You need the Macromedia Flash Player"

page.


They're testing if visitors have version 4 or 3 or none. They're not

testing v4 or better. That's why they think you don't have the Player. The

irony is that when they tell consumers to get the new Player they still

won't be able to get in. (The Macromedia Flash Player 5 went live to the

general public today.)


I dropped a note to

webmasterwarnerbros [dot] com

, alerting them that their

JavaScript routines were overly-inclusive and need to be loosened a little.

I expect we'll all come across similar overly-helpful sites over the next

few weeks... if you could drop the webmaster a line then that'd help

everyone. Thanks!
