I believe you missed a sarcasm alert. And might be making this troll's point
... he seems to be claiming that Brandon's intellectual rights on code are
subject to the same kinds of complaints as you're making regarding the term
"foo bar" (something like what someone posted earlier, there's only so many
ways to get the code to add up to 4). Personally, I doubt Brandon would
complain if it wasn't 1) a difficult and unique coding solution and 2)
obvious.

For the curious, you can go here:
http://www.tuxedo.org/~esr/jargon/html/entry/foo.html
for a detailed description of the origins of "foo bar". The most common
explanation is that yes, foobar comes from fubar, via being split into "foo"
and "bar" (since "fu" isn't as cool looking as "foo"), and then
re-concatanated. The jargon file entry above has a different slant on it.
It seems to have originated in or around WWII, and appears to have been
happpily ensconsed in the tech community by the 50's.

And to Brandon: I'd suggest your copyright notice in the comments for the
code itself, like Colin Moock does (if you haven't already been doing that)?
If I personally use someone else's solutions, I leave those notices intact
and then have all the right stuff in the code, though I seldom credit anyone
(even myself) externally (and someone might rather I didn't credit them when
I mess it all up :) And please don't quit because there are a few problem
peoples. The rest of us appreciate your work and help very much.

Thanks,
Laura Mollett
