I don't know if this will save your life, but it may save some time.

Then you can put the time you saved in a sealed jar and use it later

when you need it.

Yes. Start your movie on frame 3 or 4. Give that frame a label of

begin or whatever you like.  Put your preloader in frames 1 and 2. Use

"if frame label "begin" is loaded go to and play (or stop) "begin" in

frame 1.  Fame 2 has an action "go to and play 1".  I always have a

blank frame between the preloader and the first frame of the movie.

No real reason except sometimes it works better and if I decide to put

something at the beginning of the movie later on I have room for it

without having to drag all of the frames over.   If you have one mc

leading to the next mc, you could place each mc in a successive frame

so you have 10 frames.  Then your movie could begin playing as soon as

enough information has loaded.
