hi Judy,

when you put the movie into your timeline, put as many frames as there
are in the movie after it...

then you should be able to move along the timeline in authoring mode and
see the video changing...

as far as it not recognising the filetype... you'll have to convert it
into something that it recognises...

if you want to play it inside a flash movie you'll need to convert all
the frames to images, there are different techniques to do this, though
the one that I use is to put the movie in and then export it as a bitmap
sequence then import this sequence into flash... then drop as many
frames as you can...

I wouldn't recommend using trace bitmap... it kinda sucks
