I mean a gradient fill. Make a rectangle. Choose the bucket tool. Choose
the color square at the bottom of the drawing tools. Then choose the little
palette in the window that pops up. Choose the gradient tab, select linear
rather than radial. Click on one of the two color tabs and select black for
its color. Click on the other and choose black also, but there's an alpha
slider to the right that should be set to zero. Now select "new" and back
out of the window. You now have a new color that's the gradient I spoke of.
Apply it to the rectangle. There's a gradient adjustment tool that can be
selected while the bucket is selected. It's down toward the bottom right of
the tools. You may need to choose it to determine where the center and
edges of the fill are. Now make the rectangle a symbol and you'll be able
to motion tween it to go from stage left to stage right, so that the
gradient edge (which hopefully is on the right edge of the rectangle)
sweeps across the blurred words and blocks them out gradually.
