ASF is compact, but pretty ugly + poor sound.

Since you are working on this for a film, I'd

really suggest you work the ~1k for MCP and

Sorenson Pro into your budget, there is a reason

PM, MI2, M2M etc. show their promos in QT->

http://www.apple.com/trailers/;-) (also, http

streaming produces a much higher quality

image/sound than rtsp for short pieces). 


PS, for ~30 you can get QT Pro which will also

encode Sorenson and Qdesign sound, albeit with a

more limited compression/quality than the Pro

versions (still <better> than WMT/WMP, IMHO.)
