Subject: RE: FLASH: 4.0r26 HAS AUDIO PROBLEMS NOW . . . .

Matt,

There is a definite sound problem in your r26 player currently available for
download (OCX version).

My system: Windows 98 SE (4.10.2222 A)
Browser: Internet Explorer 5 (5.00.2614.3500)
Version of player: 4.0 r7 (works fine)
Version of player: 4.0 r26 (lots of static, audio possibly lower volume?)

For a web page you can try it on, please check this site:
http://www.onhindley.com.au/Metro/
(Not the best site in the world, but it was low budget)

Notes on the SWF, Audio here is Event (and Sync Start), MP3, 24 kbps, Mono.

When using the 4.0 r26 player, the background sound tracks (loaded
separately with Load Movie) have a greatly decreased quality, with excessive
background noise (disgusting static noise).

I have yet to check if the extra '&' symbol is still a problem with this new
player, but I will be checking that soon also.

Any help or suggestions you can provide the Flash community to help resolve
this would be greatly appreciated... don't like the idea of replacing one
very bugged player with yet another bugged player.

Macromedia, please fix this as soon as possible, as there are thousands of
developer communities around the world that rely on your technology for
their very living, these sorts of issues can be criticaly damaging to our
livelyhood.

PS: Perhaps allow us (the developers) to beta test the players prior to
release so we can pick up these horrid bugs that your QA department seem to
be missing!
