FLASH: newbie (NEWBIE!!!) question

Lurker here... I'm in awe of all of you.  You are talented and know things I can't even begin to understand...  Love all of your works.


I have a real newbie question.  I was under the impression that Illustrator drawings could be imported into Flash without much problem.  This is true for me when I save in an older format, but when I save the drawing in Illustrator 8, when I import, all I get is an assortment of whatever brushes I had in my brush palette in Illustrator.  Now I know I'm doing something stupid so go easy... ok?
