Subject: RE: FLASH: What drives the process- great design or great code?
From: Robyn Winter

I was talking to my other (computer engineer type) half yesterday regarding
this issue.

He made an interesting comment during the conversation which was "When one
wants a brochure, poster, etc, for print medium one would normally go to a
designer. But at the moment, the majority of folks wanting a webpage go to a
coder. Which gives you a cleanly coded page but often (but certainly not
always) a poorly designed page."

Being in the computer industry he agreed that, whether it is on the
Internet, intranet or extranets, there appears to be an urgency of "we need
it online now" and that good coding and design are quite often sacrificed or
simply forgotten in the urgency.

There is also the limitations or complications enchantered when designing
and/or developing a webpage, which relate to how different browsers handle
code. But I guess that is another issue.

Regards
Robyn Winter
