getURL-javascript problem

hi all,

i've followed the instructions for the F5 version of the

getURL(javascript:openNewWindow...) command in the MM technotes, and it

works fine for the example, but as soon as i substitute a relative url

like openme.html for 'http://www.macromedia.com', the script fails in

the browser, saying 'object expected'. the html file is in the same

directory as the html with the embedded swf....
