The best tool for this is 3D Studio Max. This will read most CAD file 

formats, but it is no toy.

So be prepared for a serious learning curve, good tutorials can be found

Does anyone know of a good 3d tool that can extrude 2d CAD drawings and make

them 3d, preferably something that will let me add textures etc to the

overall image. -->
