Check the version of the gdi.exe file in your \windows\system directory
(view the properties of the file). Then check the technotes on the Microsoft
web site for fixes (http://support.microsoft.com). You should be able to
extrct it from the Win98 CD and replace it.. Also, you may have a corrupt
set of font display files. In that case, you can also extract and replace
them. Look for the files in the \windows\fonts folder called vgasys.fon,
vgaoem.fon and vga850.fon -- These shoudl be moved to another location ( or
just rename them)and then get the originals from your Win98 CD (extract
fromt he CAB files).
