FLASH: off subject question GDI.exe

My computer is crashing and dieing on me. every program i open i get ______ 

has cause a invalid somthing fault in modual GDI.exe.

has anyone had this problem befor and what did  you do to fix it. please if i 

dont get this fixed i will loose everything!
