for those who got the fla of VOBATRACE

just had a quick look at the tracing script... it is all a bit of a fake
but a very clever one... basically what is happening is they have a movie
clip "tracer" which is attached to a motion path. the tracer clip acts as
dummy drag object for the movie clip "Line" as the tracer moves around the
motion path. . The control script does a few things first it duplicates the
"Line" clip for as many frames in the "Line" movie clip animation. This
sets the length of the trail. It fakes the continuous trail of the line.
Then it places each duplicate based on the last position of the "tracer"
object. The trails ability to go "around" corners and keep to the motion
path is based upon the scaling and position of the current "Line" duplicate
compared against the last (old ) position of the tracer. The "control"
script is what I call a mechanical loop, two frames containing the same
script which loop continuosly as it's movie clip plays, doing this stops
there being a "too many iterations" error in flash. If you look at the
animation closely you can see two things. one that sometimes due to your
system speed and the nature of mechanical loops there are small breaks in
the trail... ...and two, the script doesn't account for corners very well,
you can see the line take a short cut between two points either side of a
corner..... hmm but still a cool script anyway...
