Hi Russell,

There are three basic types of animated buttons that can be used in
Flash 3.
1) Ones where a Movie Clip is dropped in.
These are active on when the particular Button State is Active.
Shown in Flash Help > Samples > Symbols - Animated Buttons

2) Hidden Animation and Invisible Buttons - this is a Flash 2 work
around not normally needed if Flash 3 can be used.

3) Tell Target control of Movie Clips from buttons. This allows an
animation to run its course even after its the Button State it was
activated from is no longer Active. This is shown in my Basic Tell
Target Tutorial.
