FLASH: Button within Movieclip

Does anyone know:


If I have a bunch of MCs, duplicated, called _root.a1, _root.a2, _root.a3...

and I had a button inside of that MC, could that button tell which of the

MCs had been clipped inside?


i.e. if the button inside of _root.a1 is clicked can it return that _root.a1

was clicked or...?
