I'm not John Dowdell, but I can tell you this:

The F5 player is a little over 300k (So it can be somewhat-painlessly
delivered via the web, the player that is). That equates to it's abilty to
handle only a certain amount of simultaneous content.

The shockwave player is much much bigger in file size and thus is able to
handle the big stuff . . . tons better.

Everything has trade-offs.

If you are looking for exact amounts, that afaik would almost be impossible
to determine.

Hi Mr. J. Dowdell:

Would you be able to elaborate on this matter.

What is a websized load (maximum)?
Is there a macromedia technote or other document that
lists the differences between the use of flash vs.
director for Animation?
How does a degradation in performance of any kind
(with the use of flash) manifest itself and when
could I expect this to occur?

Thanks

You're right... the Macromedia Flash Player is
designed for web-sized
loads. If you have lots of media to manage, then
Director does this tonsbetter.
