I'm not John either (despite my efforts) but I think the
reason that they don't reveal the limits of the player is
because it performs way beyond common sense for its
intended purpose (I've had 10MB SWFs in the past).
It's like asking Sony why its CD player can't make toast...

I don't know what purpose you have in mind, but you
could just grab a bunch of images and sounds from your
computer and make a big fat test FLA. I'm sure it can
handle an FLA in excess of 300 MB or better.
