Subject: FLASH: URGENT: FrontPage with Generator/Flash
From: Colleen Appleton
Date: Tue, 14 Nov 2000 20:08:18 GMT

I am working with a client that has their own web server. I am using
UltraDev, Flash 5 and soon, Generator. The other team is using FrontPage.

Because of the nature of their business, and because of the ISP I am using,
I am not allowed to FTP to their server. Therefore; they want the final
publishing to be done with FrontPage. I have to give them my completed
UltraDev, Flash, and Generator files for them to import into FrontPage, then
publish.

They insist that the FrontPage method of publishing minimizes security
risks. I do not want to get into a debate here on whether or not there is a
security issue as they claim, but I want to know if I can continue using my
Dreamweaver and Flash files as I have been doing, and the FrontPage users
can import these files (without changing them) and use FrontPage as the
final method of publishing.

Another issue to consider. My client wants Flash/Generator files to be
created on-the-fly. Can FrontPage publishing handle this or does
Generator/Flash require FTP access to make dynamic graphics?

Thank you in advance,

Colleen
