Try to uninstall the swflash.ocx first. Start/Run and type "regsvr32 /u
swflash.ocx".

Subject: FLASH: IE5 auto-updating flash plug-in problem

I've done some testing recently. When moving the flash folder from
winnt/sys32/macromedia (which contains the activex flashplayer for IE) and
then
reading a page html that contains a flash IE ask wether I want to "install
on
demand" the flash player. When I answer "yes" to that, "component download
fails"

Is my way of testing wrong, ie, should I be removing more from the winnt/
folder
or is the autoupdate just not working. I've had several clients complain
about
the problem - anyone got a solution or an explanation?
