Bryan,

I don't know the answers to all of your questions because I don't know Director
that well but I'll crack at the ones I can give input on:

I think this stuff is pretty easy in Flash and I did studied music in college,
not math or computer sci. If you know Lingo I'm sure you'll get actionscript.
Just a lot of lengthy if/then statements.

No sweat. Easier than the web. Once you declare a variable the thing is
remembered.

Performance issues. Will the Flash movie be giant and bog down little
processors.
