I don't think there's any way to preload a portion of a sound,
or even check if a portion is loaded. If the sound is set to
stream, then you might be able to check 'if frame is loaded'
to see if the frame that marks 30% of your movie is loaded...
That's about as close as you'll get I think. The %30 will
obviously be more accurate if you have the sound file in a
separate SWF.

As far as that dimensions problem goes, you need to have the
view set to postscript before you export. You can then export
as *.AI or *.EPS. Flash will take either (though I usually
dummy-down the AI version to version 3)
