Subject: RE: FLASH: Imported png is STILL dithered in Movie

Whew! Thanks for all the help!
Here's what I did to solve the dithering problem:
1) First I re-saved my embossed circle out of PhotoShop again and tested it
with different settings. PNG-24 Transparency was the best, but that didn't
fix the problem when I updated the imported file.
2) I checked to see if I was scaling the image down to a smaller size after
I imported it....BINGO! That was the problem.
3) I resized my image in PhotoShop and exported as a PNG-24 Transparency
again (it took several tries to get it the right size I needed).
4) I imported the resized PNG and created another layer to test it. In a
side by side comparison, the scaled version was dithered and the untouched
one looked great!

Thanks to everyone who helped! I'm a new member of the group and look
forward to all the great advise!

Thanks again!
Kathy

I'm just a sponge....here to soak up all the knowledge that gets spilled on
to the list.

Kathy,

I haven't been following this thread, so if this duplicates previous
replies, I apologize.

I once spent the better part of the day trying to fix what appeared to be
bad dithering which appeared when I was proofing my flash in the player.

The player was scaling the movie slightly on playback and no amount of "View
at 100%" was appearing to fix it, nor was anyting I was doing in my .fla
affecting its appearance.

However, I hadn't published the file.

Once I published the file and viewed it in a browser it looked great.
