I reserve my applause for entrepreneurial initiative that actually *creates*

something or at least fulfills a need. The mass registration of generic

domains by the kind of bottom-feeding parasites who warehouse names does not

create value, nor does it fulfill a need -- in fact it does the opposite by

acting as an absurd bottleneck which restricts the ability of other to

launch businesses which create value. The fact that names are becoming

harder to find means genuine entrepreneurs have to pay through the nose for

good names, which increases the cost of start-up and ultimately applies

unnecessary friction to the new economy.


It is a waste of resources because money is siphoned off from the value

chain by parasites who contribute nothing whatsoever in return. Why do you

applaud that?
